five movement games for kids - AWRAQ Community Papers
Playing in children is an urgent need for the continuation of their healthy growth and increasing their mental skills, and due to the spread of the
Coronavirus (Covid-19), many children's playgrounds, parks and sports clubs have closed partially or completely, so I liked to write a new set of targeted movement activities away from mobile and computer games, Children can learn and practice it at home or outside the home, and parents can share with them, and this is a useful thing to strengthen the family bond

5 Movement activities for children

1- Big ball goal:

Participants: two teams, (each team includes one or more children ..).

Tools needed: a large ball and several small balls.

Expected time: from (1) to (2) minutes.

Explain how to play

We draw two opposite lines that are about 5 meters apart, and we draw two other lines in the middle of the distance between the two previous lines, and the distance between them is about (1) meter, so we have (4) lines; (2) two external, (2) internal.

Each team stands on one of the outer lines, and we put a large ball in the middle of the distance between the two inner lines, and each team carries a number of smaller balls.

When signaling, the competitors throw small balls at the big ball in the middle with the aim of rolling it outside the inner line closest to the opposing team, and the competitors benefit from the opponents' balls that will be thrown to their side, and whoever gets the ball out first is the winner.

2- Protecting the pyramid:

Participants: (3) children or more.

Tools needed: a number of empty cans, a volleyball or a ball that is not heavy.

Expected time: from (5) to (10) minutes.

How to play

A pyramid is made from empty boxes and one child stands at it called the pyramid guard, and you draw a large circle around this pyramid, and the rest of the children stand outside it and a leader is appointed for them.

When the captain signals, the children try to hit the pyramid with the ball without entering the circle, while the pyramid keeper tries to protect it from the ball, and children can exchange the ball between them to choose the appropriate moment to throw the ball, and if the goalkeeper catches the ball with his hands, he returns it to the team captain.

In the event that the pyramid falls, whether from the ball strikes or because of the movement of the goalkeeper himself, he is considered a loser, but if he is able to protect it until the time is up, then he is the winner.

3- The time is now:

Participants: (6) children or more (three players for each team)

Required tools: crayons or drawing pens.

How to play

Draws a large circular clock on the ground, and is numbered by the real number of hours (12). Three children are chosen from each team, so that the three children represent the hands (hours, minutes, and seconds).

When referring, the supervisor puts forward a time, as if he says the time is now: half past four seconds. Then the child of the hour hand should stand at No. 4, the minute child at No. 6, and the second child at No. 10, and the children who stand in the right place first are the winners.

4- Write it right:

Participants: open according to the activity data.

Required tools: medium or large sheets of paper, a pen.

The expected time: from (5) to (10) minutes.

How to play

We write on each sheet a letter, for example, we have four sheets of paper, then we make a second copy of the papers identical to the first copy.

We give each team a copy of the papers so that each child has one.

The supervisor reads a formed word from the same letters on the sheets, and the team that forms the correct word fastest wins.

This activity can be limited to one team only.

Example: The word required the first time is (Samer), the next time the letters change to form another word that is not necessarily meaningful, such as (Mars) or (Emers) or (Sarma) and so on ...

5- Building the Pyramid of Cups:

Participants: (2) or more.

Required tools: plastic or paper cups.

The expected time: (1) to (2) minutes.

Building the Pyramid of Cups - AWRAQ Community Papers

How to play

Each child is assigned a number of plastic cups, for example (15), and it is taken into account to choose a number that forms a pyramid that does not increase or decrease cups, such as (6, 10, 15, 21)

At the sign, each child starts building their pyramid, and who ends first is the winner. But we can prolong the competition by giving additional tasks, such as running and touching a certain thing after completing the construction of the pyramid, and then returning and packing the cups inside each other.
